The Kennedy Lugar Youth Exchange & Study Program Karachi Admission 2023 is an opportunity for students from the United States to spend a year studying in Karachi, Pakistan. The Kennedy Lugar Youth Exchange & Study Program 2023
The Kennedy Lugar Youth Exchange & Study Program (KLYEP) is an intensive six-week summer program in Karachi, Pakistan for high school students from the United States. The KLYEP provides an opportunity for American students to experience a foreign country and culture while gaining academic skills and knowledge.
Applicants must be nominated by their school or governor’s office, have a 3.0 GPA or higher, and demonstrate leadership qualities. This year’s class of 31 students comes from 18 states across the U.S., with students from Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York (including Long Island), North Carolina (except Raleigh), Ohio (Cincinnati only), Oregon (Portland only), Pennsylvania (Scranton/Wilkes-Barre only), Rhode Island (Providence only), Texas (except Austin), Virginia (Lynchburg only), Washington and Wisconsin.

Since its inception in 2002 KLYEP has partnered with various organizations such as the United States Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs; the Peace Corps; the University of Karachi; Balochistan University; and many others to provide enriching experiences for participants. The program runs from Monday through Thursday during June through August each year. Kennedy Lugar Youth Exchange & Study Program Karachi Admission Eligibility
The Kennedy Lugar Youth Exchange & Study Program (KLYEP) is a prestigious and selective program which offers highly coveted admission to top universities worldwide. KLYEP students hail from all corners of the globe and represent a broad range of interests, backgrounds and talents.
Requirements for admission into KLYEP are extremely rigorous and include excellent academic records, demonstrated leadership abilities, an articulate writing style and strong personal motivation. However, despite these impressive qualifications, not everyone is eligible to participate in the program.
To be considered for admission into KLYEP, applicants must be citizens or nationals of countries with which the United States has a bilateral educational exchange agreement. Additionally, applicants must have achieved outstanding academic results in their previous schools or colleges. Furthermore, students who are not U.S. citizens or nationals must hold a visa that allows them to stay in Pakistan for an uninterrupted period of study of no less than one year.
